Welcome to
Art By Emma Violet

My earrings are hand designed and crafted by me, made from Polymer Clay and the ocassional bead or two.  All earrings are lightweight and easy to wear, and made from nickel free hardware.

My doodles come from my own passions, as I am inspired to draw the things around me - mostly involving my wide arrange of plants, and cooking with fruits and veggies. I like to combine dark ink marks, with the softness of watercolor.

I hope you are able to find something that you love!

Thanks for looking,

XO, Emma Violet

The Face Behind Art By
Emma Violet

My name is Emma Violet Baker.

I am an Elementary School Art teacher in Lakeville, MN. When the pandemic hit, I found myself needing something creative to pass the time (and distract me from the fact that I missed my 700+ students like crazy). I have always had a love for jewelry design thanks to my art background at University of Wisconsin Stout, and my love for clay that started in my 4th Grade elementary school art class. I found the two merged together, by creating polymer clay earrings.

My doodles are new and have been grounding for me. As a teacher, sometimes It is hard to take time for yourself. I found myself creating my doodles during my lunch break, using it as a relaxation tool to center myself during my busy days. As friends and family started to find interest in me creating doodles for them, I thought why wouldn't I want to share them with all of you? I have a passion for shading and drawing with dark ink, and watercolor has given me an ability to add a lighter element to my art. I have a fixation on plants, and all things food related which comes across on my doodles. I am excited to explore more of these with you, and to share my drawing journey.

Art by Emma Violet came to fruition in July, 2020 - and I have found joy from it ever since. I run my small business out of my basement home studio, with the help from my two spunky miniature schnauzers, Winston and Oscar. I love how lightweight and wearable the jewelry is, and how I am able to experiment with new clay making techniques that allows me to create endless designs. My doodles are something that have brought me a new spark. I have decorated my own home with variations of my ink drawings and watercolor, and I am excited to start sharing them with you for your home. It has offered me a creative outlet, and I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to be here.
